Partnered with former World Junior Ice Dancing Champion, Olga Sharutenko, John made a foray into reality televsion on the ITV show, Dancing On Ice.
John and other celebrities competed weekly in this ice dancing competition in early 2006. John was considered the most accomplished male skater and a favorite to win, but was voted off in only the fourth weeks in what was considered by many a strange decision from the panel of judges.
Undaunted, John and Olga (dubbed 'Team Barrowtenko') will reunite in the 2006 pantomime season, appearing in Jack and the Beanstalk in Cardiff.
