Probably the most famous of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's stable of musicals, Evita details the rise to power of Juan Perón as President of Argentina, told from the perspective of his second wife, Eva, who played a significant role in his success and rose from poverty to become the most powerful woman in Argentina by the age of 27.
The musical begins in July 1952 at the time of Eva Perón's death from cancer at the age of 33. The story of her life is told in flashback, with Ché acting as both narrator and observer.
